Major Achievement

Involved in the Erection, Pre-Commissioning, Commissioning, Maintenance & Shutdown of Two Ethylene ( Naphtha Cracker) Plants and one Vinyl Chloride Monomer Plant. One of the Ethylene plant is the world largest multiple feed of capacity –700 KTA of Reliance, India and the other one is 470 KTA of Haldia Petrochemicals Ltd, Haldia, India and VCM plant is of Reliance Industries Ltd. India. Control & Operating system is from ABB Advent & MOD 300 in Reliance and Honeywell System in Haldia.

Summary of Experience

Eleven years Experience in the Petrochemicals field involved in the Project, Erection, Commissioning, Maintenance and Engineering activities. Out of which five years Experience with M/s. Reliance, India and involved in the Erection, Pre-Commissioning, Commissioning, Maintenance & Shutdown activities of VCM Plant for three and half years ( From July 1990 to Dec 1993). Then in the second phase involved in the Commissioning, Maintenance & Shutdown activities of 700 KTA Ethylene plant for one and half years ( From May 1996 to Nov 1997). Worked two and half years with Larsen & Toubro Ltd in Engineering Dept. Calcutta.

Right now working as Instrument Team leader for Ethylene plant of Haldia Petrochemicals Ltd, Haldia, India involved in the Project, Erection, Commissioning, Maintenance & Shutdown activities. Specialized in the Erection, Commissioning & Maintenance field of DCS ( Honeywell), Programmable Logic Controller ( TRICONEX TMR PLC), Plant ESD Logic & Flare load Management system, Compressor & Turbine Control and Interlock system, Field Instruments ( Honeywell, Rosemount Smart & Analog Transmitter), Control Valves of Different make ( Fisher, Keystone, Virgo, Valtek, Rotork Actuator etc.). Preparation of Regular, Periodic and Preventive maintenance procedure for different Instrument items based on HSE, Criticality etc and PM schedule.

Project work

· Worked as Sr. Project Engineer for Ethylene plant ( 470 KTA), Licensed by ABB Lummus, USA and LSTK Contractor is Toyo Engineering Corporation, Japan and Project Management Team (PMT) is M/s. Bechtel International Inc. USA.
· Co-Ordination with Licensor, LSTK Contractor, PMT, PMC and with different vendors for different project related issues.
· Co-Ordination, Correspondence and review of Engineering documents ( Honeywell DCS, TRICONEX TMR PLC, Fire &Gas System, Machine Monitoring system, WoodWard Governor System, Antisurge Control System, Compressor Package PSA package, MB Polisher Unit, Analyser & Analyser Shelter, Field

Distributed Control System ( DCS ) & PLC

· Review, implementation & troubleshooting of different controls like Auto Control, Cascade Control, Ratio Control, Feedforward Control, Split range Control, Feedback Control, Override or Selection Control in Naphtha Cracker ( Ethylene ) unit – Implemented in Honeywell DCS which consists critical process application like Naphtha\ LPG Cracking Heater, Compressor, Cold & Hot section and other packages.
· Automatic sequence operation implementation in Honeywell DCS for Furnace Operation, Dryer Regenaration, Mix Bed Polisher Unit etc.
· Review and approval of Interlock and shutdown system logic diagram for Ethylene plant ( consists of Furnace logic, Compressor & Turbine Logic, Flare Load Management System, Pump Auto Start/Stop logic, Different Columns safety logic ) . Implementation of the same in TRICONEX TMR PLC in the form of FBD ( Functional Block Diagram). Implementation of new concepts in the Interlogic logic philosophy ( On line Solenoid Valve Checking Procedure through Interlock ).
· Checking of System hardware & Configuration for Honeywell DCS & TRICONEX PLC. Good woking knowledge on the Honeywell DCS System Hardware Configuration and TRICONEX TMR PLC Hardware configuration.
· Erection, Commissioning, Troubleshooting, Regular, Periodic & Preventive Mamintenance of Honeywell DCS and TRICONEX TMR PLC.
· Checking and configuration of DCS Serial Interface with other foreign devices like Machine Monitoring system, Antisurge Controller, Gas Chromatograph, WoodWard Governor, TLV/DV Sequencer, TRICONEX TMR PLC etc.
· Preparation of FURNACE COCRACKING logic & Control system and configuration & Implementation of the same in Honeywell DCS.
· Loop checking and simulation of Control & Interlock logic diagram for DCS and PLC.
· Factory Acceptance Test and site Acceptance test of DCS and Triconex TMR PLC.
· Alarm annunciation system implementation in the TMR PLC.
· Modification job implementation in DCS and PLC for better process operation.
· Preparation of Regular, periodic, Preventive maintenance procedure and schedule for DCS & PLC and execution of the same.

Compressor Related Control & Instrumentation (a) Commissioning & Maintenance of Bently Nevada Machine Monitoring System , Series 3500 for four Compressor in Ethylene plant and Data Manager 2000 for the entire complex for Machine analysis (b) Commissioning & Maintenance of Anti Surge Control System- APPECs Controller supplied by Moore , USA for CGC, C2R & C3R Compressor (c) Commissioning & Maintenance of Woodward Governor Micronet TMR Controller for three Compressors turbine speed and Extraction control purpose (d) Checking & troubleshooting of Compressor control & Interlock logic and Rotating equipment protection system for all compressor in Ethylene plant.

Fire & Gas System:- (a) Commissioning & Maintenance of Fire &Gas System which is implemented in Trusted ICS TMR Processor ( Dragger Make Gas Detector and Thorn Make Fire Detector). (b) Commissioning & maintenance of CO2 Flooding system for fire protection.

Field Instrumentation :- (a) Monitoring & Supervision of LSTK Contractors Instrumentation job at site and involved in the field activities like Instrument calibration ( Honeywell Smart Transmitter, Rosemount smart & Analog Transmitter, Level troll, Purge type level measurement, Pressure switch, Draft gauge etc.) , Installation, Loop Checking, Trouble shooting etc. ( b) Troubleshooting and Maintenance of Motor Operated Valve ( MOV), Rotork.
