2. Malaysian Government (August 1992 - September 1995)

a. liaising with all top-level management personnel in the Ministry of Rural Development, including the Minister of Rural Development regarding weekly Post Cabinet and Ministry’s Top Level Management meetings.
b. preparing minutes of meetings for the Ministry’s Secretary General before submitting them to the Minister for approval
c. follow-up with top-level management personnel regarding the outcome of the meetings
d. compiling information from all relevant departments and regional agencies (22 agencies) under the Ministry
e. researching and presenting issues raised in the Parliament to the Ministry of Rural Development
f. preparing and overseeing officers’ schedule for Parliament’s sessions
g. liaising with the Prime Minister’s Office, Minister of Rural Development, State’s Administrators and other statutory bodies regarding the appointment of Board of Directors of all regional agencies under the Ministry (9 agencies)
h. liaising with the Assistant Secretary General of Ministry of Education and State’s Education Departments regarding the promotion of non-graduates teachers throughout Malaysia.
i. preparing reports regarding promotions of non-graduates teachers for the Minister of Education and the ministry’s Secretary General.

RECOGNITIONS
1. Nominated for the “Outstanding Young Man of America 1988” award by the Director of Learning Assistance Center, California State University, Dominguez Hills
The award is an honor that recognizes young men throughout the United States for professional achievement and community service. I participated in a summer program specially designed for high school students surrounding the university who did not qualify to enter to the university. As a Mathematics tutor, I assisted these students (about 150 students) to overcome their fear toward Mathematics. As a result of cooperation and hard work, about 80% of my students passed their test and were accepted as freshmen by the University. About 13% of those who failed continued to receive guidance from me and managed to be accepted by the University in the following semester or accepted by nearby community colleges.
2. “Best Student 1983” award - Za’ba Secondary School, Kuala Pilah, Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia
The award is an honor that recognizes outstanding student throughout the year in all aspects, including sports, academic achievements, extra curriculum activities, etc. As a student, I played volleyball for the school, participated in producing the school’s yearly magazine and represented my school in the school district First Aid competition. At the same time, I was elected by my peers to hold key position in several clubs, such as Vice President of the Language Club, Vice President of Consumer Club and Treasurer of the First Aid Club. Simultaneously, I was appointed as a school prefect, school librarian and a class monitor.
