Duties and Responsibilities:
§ Coordination and assistance to the GL and the LG Inspection group as well as the QGPC operations department in all quality related matters.
§ Verified and ensured that the applicable project specification, approved drawings, standard codes and assembly process were correctly executed during construction.
§ Supervised and monitored the material receiving inspection of piping and steel structure prior to start of fabrication and erection with the approved drawing and specification requirements.
§ Witnessing welding procedure qualification and welders qualification test and approval of welders qualification certificate. Monitor the welders’ performance status by weekly and monthly basis including the welding repair ratio. Duties and Responsibilities: As the Welding Engineer
§ The position was Head Office based with regular visits to Projects scattered all over the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
§ Prepared weekly/daily schedule of manpower mobilization, welding equipment, consumable control, welding activities and relevant testing activities based on the project requirements to be issued at every shop and Field Welding Supervisors involved in the projects.
§ Ensured that Welding Supervisors/Welders are familiar with welding symbols, materials to be welded and ensure the correct welding technique were applied to avoid distortion, repairs and NDE rejection.
§ Coordination with shop/field Superintendent and other key personnel involved in the project regarding the progress status. Monitor welding progress report and update the actual accomplishment against planned. Log all the problems encountered and assist in initiating solution.
§ Coordinates activities with client representatives regarding work status and progress. Prepare accomplishment and progress report as required in the process of construction.
§ Conduct training and seminar to introduce basic welding technique - theoretical & practical to develop and upgrade the skills and working ability of each trainee. The training subject included -the proper interpretation and application of welding procedure specifications, drawing and welding symbols, how to implement and follow the requirements complying with the applicable project specification, codes and standard, the basic and special technique applied in different welding processes commonly used in construction and regarding how to work safely with less work rejection ratio but with high productivity.

§ Inspection of all materials and equipment to be installed.
§ Liaisons with outside approved testing laboratories and review all results.
§ Inspection of fit-ups as per fabrication drawings, holiday testing, hydro tests of valves & flow lines, sandblasting and painting.
§ Monitoring the quality of job comprising the installation of buried externally FBE coated pipeline, installation of scraper traps & piping, emergency shutdown valves, stress relieving of critical piping systems, cathodic protection, caliper survey, pre-commissioning etc, inclusive of Mechanical, Civil, Structural, Electrical and Instrumentation works.
