Administration, Installation, TCP/IP Configuration, troubleshooting & Technical Support for Win NT server and over 100 Workstations and Local Area Network. Additional responsibilities included designing mechanical assemblies and supervising designers to produce highly detailed sectional shop drawings in mechanical discipline for large scale infrastructure projects.
Desalination Plant at Jebel Ali-UAE - Creating Piping Isometric and P&ID drawings from contract layouts where no sectional and Isometric details were provided. This was a challenging and urgent job where I have to calculate B.O.Q from the final Isometrics and preparing As-Built of the same systems.
American Hospital in Dubai, UAE - Preparation of pump room, plumbing piping layout as well as HVAC layout
TD-52 Airport Project at Dubai - Chiller plant piping layout and making details and sections for pumps and equipment.
Ritz Carlton Hotel at Dubai - Preparation of pump room piping layout, sections and detailed isometric layout, and P&ID Plumbing and fire fighting services drawings.

Saudi Binladin Group – IPP, Jeddah - Saudi Arabia From Sept. 1991 to July 1995
Senior CADD Engineer & First Asst. to USA Engineering Operations Manager
Responsibilities included , preparation of all drawing packages for 5 Power Plants, Petro-Chemical, Palace, Airport and Government Building projects in Mechanical, HVAC, Piping and Electrical disciplines. In addition to Designing and drafting duties I was also involved in customizing AutoCAD and Microstation systems for speedy production of drawings. Additional duties included overseeing 60 Cadd operators and troubleshooting their day to day problems. Others duties included System Implementation, Support and IT Management for Engineering Division. Installing and troubleshooting PC, Applications / Designing NetWare Server Directory Structure to Provide Satisfactory Engineering Solution.
Duties with re-engineering Team included evaluating Manual Draftsmen, assembling teaching aids to transfer them over to CADD and following up with periodic evaluations. In 90 days we took the Saudi Binladin operation, having over 120 Manual Draftsmen to a complete CADD change over that left us with 60 CADD operators who could turn out more production with a higher level of quality on a digital format. We were able to move these files via modem to our joint venture partners (General Electric) in the USA and reduce the time spent in evaluating drawings which allowed us to execute our projects in Saudi Arabia in a timely fashion, this was in 1993.
In a six year time frame SBG-IPP was able to effectively Bid, design and construct 6 Power plant projects that brought more than 2000 mega watts of power into the countries grid with a estimated value of over $2 billion US. Projects included Azir, Jizan, PP7 expansions, PP8 expansions, PP9.
Ajyad chiller plant at Mecca - This was the largest Chiller plant and Pipe line for Chiller ever built, it was designed to provide cool air from the floor of the Holy Mosque in Mecca which would prevent the Pilgrims from suffering from Heat exhaustion and dieing. To give you an idea of the scale of the Mosque you can get more than 6 US style football fields in it and still have plenty of room. I was the Senior Designer involved in the Preparation of all shop drawings for the 36” chiller pipelines as well as preparing isometrics and sectional details for the 2- 36” CHWS/R lines from plant to AC units, estimated 1.8 KM in length. We had 10 months from start to finish on the project and was able Design and Engineer the project, build the Plant into the side of a rock cliff, tunnel the 1.8 KM for the pipe, install the materials and have the plant up and running in time for the Holy holidays. With the Direction of one the US’s finest Civil Engineer’s we completed the project ahead of schedule and in full compliance.
