M.Tech Thesis

The Project work done as a part of Mtech is regarding Structural Dynamic Analysis of an Oil Tanker using Finite Element Method . Sectional detail of an oil tanker designed by M/s Cochin Shipyard Ltd was collected. A beam model with varying sectional properties was used for the modeling. Eigenvalue analysis was performed to study the variation of natural frequency and mode shapes. Forced vibration analysis was performed to analyse the flexure response of the ship subjected to nuclear explosions conducted various depth .Dynamic bending moment variation long the length of the ship for different range of explosion was found out. An attempt was made to develop to derive a general expression for predicting the response of ship for any depth of explosion. The whole project was executed using NISA Finite Element Analysis Software Developed by Engineering Mechanics Research. Corporation, Michigan State ,U.S.A.

Extra Curricular Activities

As Civil Association Secretary at M.A. College Of Engineering, Kothamangalam for the year 1996-1997, coordinated activities like debates, seminars etc . Presented a paper on ‘ISO Quality Systems in Construction Industry’ for National Level Technical Symposium organized by Institution Of Engineers.
