Working as an Assistant Executive Engineer in the SatCom Lab (R&D) of the Indian Telephone Industries Ltd (ITI Ltd.) since August 1999. The ITI Ltd. is the total Telecom and IT solution provider and contributes to 70% of the Indian Telecom Network. (http://www.itiltd-india.com)


My experience encompasses the following roles

RF Design Engineer:

· Designed, developed and implemented 5W Ku-Band feedmount Solid State Power Amplifier using Fujitsu GaAs MMICs part no:FMM-5010, FMM-5048 and GaAs FET FLM-1414-8F for VSAT application. This amplifier was simulated, and RF PC board layout was realized using the ‘Microwave Office’ simulation tool. Substrate used was RT Duroid of Îr=2.3 and h=0.5mm. CPWG line was chosen to minimize radiation from the devices. This was designed based on the requirements of DOT (Department of Telecommunication, Government of India)

· Designed, developed and implemented RF components like 10dB and 30dB couplers, power splitters/combiners and micro strip filters utilizing ‘Microwave Office’ simulation tool; these were simulated using Electromagnetic Simulator and these components were used in different Satellite Communication projects.

· Designed, developed and implemented redundant(1:1) switches of IF(52-88MHz) and RF at 6GHz and 4GHz using Hittite Microwave Corporation GaAs MMIC switches part no: HMC270MS8G and HMC284MS8G for Very Small Aperture Terminal(VSAT) and Intermediate Data Rate (IDR) applications. These switches are used in Satellite modem and UP/Down converter switch over units of 1:1 configuration.

· Developed a greater understanding of Electromagnetic Interference and Compatibility analysis. Conducted EMI/EMC tests for Satellite equipment to comply with Class-A of CISPR-22 and IEC 1000-4-1 through to 6.


RF Testing Experience:

· Tested Satellite Modems supplied by Radyne Comstream Corporation, USA.
· Tested Satellite UP/Down Converters in C and Ku-bands supplied by Radyne Comstream, USA and Vertex RSI , Anghel labs, USA.
· Tested Satellite Low Noise Amplifiers in C and Ku-bands supplied by NEC, Japan.
· Tested Power Amplifier in C-band Supplied by Advantech Corporation, Canada .
· The above mentioned tests comprised of S-Parameters, 1dB compression point, IP3, Noise Figure, Spurious, Group Delay, Phase Noise, Bit Error Rate tests etc. These subsystems were imported by ITI Ltd., as a part of transfer of technology arrangement.
· Worked on system testing and individual testing of C and Ku-band Satellite (Up /Down) links. Measured various parameters like transceiver signal strength, C/No, Eb/No and BER testing of IDR equipment. This was tested for 2/8 Mbps to comply with IESS-308 and SSOG-308.
· Experience in manual operation and automation of RF test instruments like Scalar and Vector Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzer, Power Meter, Noise Figure Meter, Frequency Counter, Synthesized Sweep Oscillator and Digital Oscilloscope using GPIB (IEEE488.2). This automation implemented on UP/Down Converters and Modems to measure the RF parameters. This reduced the testing time of productivity. Code was written in C language; to control the parameters like frequency and attenuation of converters RS-485 interface was used.
· Experience in Base band testing of 2GHz 2/8Mbps Digital Microwave Radio system.
· Involved in installation and commissioning of MCPC VSATs in the field.
· Experience in assembly of Microwave components and soldering of SMT components under microscope.
· Experience in testing of Micro controller boards.

· B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada, India in 1996.
· M.Tech in Remote Sensing from Andhra University College of Engineering, Visakhapatnam, India in 1999.
