*Currently, I am developing an in-house application that requires me to use VB.NET and ASP.NET.

* Involved in a project that requires me to code using C#.NET and dealing with web services. Ensure that there is a connection between the SMS Centre and the customized application. SMPP protocol is used for the connectivity. Develop an application that is able to receive and send messages to the SMS Centre.

* Involved in the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission Key Performance Index (MCMC KPI) System.

* Responsible in developing, deploying and monitoring scheduled applications to capture information such as the number of attempts before a successful connection to the Internet, the time taken to access the Internet access provider's (IASP) node, and the average file download time from a web site.

* Develop, design and deploy user entry applications to receive billings information and general customer complaint information.

* Develop reports that are generated to display the summary and details of captured information from user entry or through scheduled applications.

* All developments are done using Python, and reporting using ASP, VBScripts and JavaScripts.

* Create and compile COM+ objects in order to retrieve values for the KPI measurements. The database used for the MCMC KPI System is Microsoft SQL Server.

* Attended a week of Microsoft Tech Ed 2002 held in PWTC.

* Took part in the developer tools conference such as ASP.NET, VB.NET, C#.NET, ADO.NET, J#.NET and many others.

* Participated in the conference to develop applications using Visual Studio and .NET Compact Framework.

* Attended the Microsoft Commerce Server 2000 training for a week in Microsoft Training Center.

* Create and code the login portion of the Internet System. Performed system checking for its functionality and detect errors. Ensured system flow and GUI consistency.

* Exposed to Active Server Pages language, HTML, JavaScripts, as well as VBScripts for data retrieving and reporting.

* Utilization of COM sample. Implement COM objects into assignments.

FINAL YEAR MANDATORY PROJECT

Intelligent Book Renting System

This system has been developed using Visual Basic version 6.0 as well as Active Server Pages in Microsoft Visual InterDev version 6.0. This book renting system consists of an online module that allows customers to view the books available and edit their user details online (eg: change of address, etc). The coding was done using VBScripts as well as Java Scripts.
This system also contains a module where by the system administrator can allow book rental, book sales, membership maintenance, supplier maintenance, stock/library controls, management reporting, and customer inquiries. The database used in the project was Microsoft Access.

FINAL YEAR MANDATORY SEMINAR

Software Piracy

This seminar covers, the background and overview of software piracy; how it occurs, and ways to curb it. The problem is getting worse and how Malaysian government is trying to control this matter from getting out of hand.

INDUSTRIAL TRAINING EXPERIENCE

I worked as a trainee programmer in the Internet Module in Silverlake ComTech dealing with maintaining, troubleshooting and amending the Intelligent Crew Management System as well as coding new programs to meet the dynamic requirements of customers.
I was given the opportunity to create and code the login page of the Internet system. I was exposed to the Active Server Pages language, HTML, JavaScripts as well as VBScripts which enables data retrieval and reporting.
I was given the chance to interact with users and make changes to the system in accordance to the user requirements. I was also given the chance to explain about the Internet module to the user and how to use the system. I analyzed the Test Observation Reports from the MAS users and find solutions to solve bugs or errors.
Performed system checking for its functionality and detect errors. The system is checked for its consistency of its GUI and ensured user friendliness. I also ensured that the flow of the system is consistent.
I learned the utilization of COM sample. Implemented the COM into assignments that allow information to be inserted from a database.
