Company consists of an Ammonia Plant of 1350 MTPD capacity based on M/s Haldor Topsoe Denmark Technology with Natural Gas as feed stock. and Urea Plant of 2250 MTPD capacity based on M/s Snamprogetti S.p.a, Italy Technology along with other offsite facilities like, D.M. Plant, Steam Generation Plant, Cooling Tower, Ammonia Storage, ETP, STP, Bagging plant, Inert Gas Generation Plant etc. Company has its own power generation by 2 x 22.4 MW, 11 KV Gas Turbo Generators. JOB PROFILE:
Working as Assistant Manager, i.e., Shift In charge in Ammonia Plant. Responsibilities include keep the Plant running safely, smoothly, efficiently, startup shutdown, emergency handling, Managing manpower, material, jobs during normal course as well as in shutdown in the shift. Control system here is of Taylor ABB (mod 300 DCS). Also remains in General Shift whenever needed and take the responsibilities of general shift activities. In addition to it makes engineering calculations (Mass Energy Balance) for cross check of plant parameters to optimize the process and suggests any modification in the existing system, wherever possible to reduce the energy requirement and, assisting other shifts during emergencies and assisting the complex as a whole with general services in case of any abnormal condition.

1. CHAMBAL FERTILISERS AND CHEMICALS LIMITED GADEPAN KOTA (RAJASTHAN) is also having an Ammonia and Urea Plant of similar capacity / feed stock along with other accessory units. Ammonia Plant here is also based on M/s Haldor Topsoe Denmark Technology. I had worked there on Panel as well as in Field in Ammonia Plant as Shift Engineer/ Sr. Shift Engineer from 12.12.92 to 09.03.1996. The control system there was of Yokogawa Centum XL. I was responsible for normal plant operation, start up, shut down, handling of Emergencies, making Engineering calculations for various crosschecks. I was also involved in erection/ precommissioning/ commissioning activities of Ammonia Plant there. Ammonia Plant was commissioned and came in online production in Dec., 1993.
2. INDIAN FARMERS FERTILISERS COOPERATIVE LIMITED has its three Ammonia / Urea complexes at Kalol near Ahmedabad (Gujarat), Phulpur near Allahabad (U.P.) and Aonla near Bareilly (U.P.) and one NPK/DAP plant at Kandla (Gujarat). I have worked in its Kalol and Aonla Units in Field as well as on Panel in Ammonia Plants based on M/s M.W.Kellog USA and M/s Haldor Topsoe Denmark technology with 900TPD and 1350 TPD capacity respectively as Jr. Operator Trainee/ Jr. Operator/ Sr. Operator from 07.11.1985 to 07.12.1992.Both plants were based on NG feedstock. My job responsibilities were to run the plant smoothly, efficiently and safely, taking startup shutdown and handling of emergencies. The control system there was of Taylor Mod – 30/300. I was also involved in erection/ precommissioning/ commissioning activities of Ammonia Plant at Aonla which came in online production in May, 1988.
TRAINING DONE:
- Done Apprentice Training in Mathura Refinery of Indian Oil Corporation Limited and had exposure for its various units like Atmospheric & Vacuum Distillation Unit. Visbreaker Unit, FCC Unit, Sulphur Recovery Unit, Bitumen Unit etc.
