PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE :

· Presently working as R & D Executive in Kamani Oil Industries from 4th September 2000. Responsibilities included:
-Quality improvement of existing products.
-Cost reduction and profit improvement of existing products.
-Technological upgradation/consolidation of existing products by improving the quality (standardizing processes [SOP] and maintaining quality standards)
-New Product Development e.g. Bakery Shortenings, Dairy Fat Alternative, tailor made fats/oils for various industries-by-continuous interface with customers to understand their specific requirements.
-Technical assistance to other functions viz. Marketing, Commodities, Operations and Quality Assurance.
-Analytical skill development in instrumentation, chemical, physical and sensory analysis.

· In kamani I have worked on main project of cocoa butter substitute ( CBS ) of lauric origin. I have started the project at R & D level with 40 kg lot size and now with the guidance of management within 6 months we have started a independent plant of CBS of production capacity 3 MT/day. I have done lot of r & d along with our consultant to get the final CBS product meeting to the technical specifications of multinational chocolate factories. I have also worked to streamline the project at plant level to get the production capacity from 40 kg to 3 MT/day by doing manpower management, time management. I was also involved in erection of independent plant for CBS.

· I have also worked as Research Assistant In I.I.T. Bombay in Chemical Engineering Dept. & Environmental Engineering Dept. ( CESE ) on the projects such as UASB Reactors & Performance Evaluation of Effluent Treatment Plant for one year.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE:

Worked as Visiting Faculty at Bhagubai Mafatlal Polytechnic, Vileparle, Mumbai. I engaged lectures for the first year post diploma students of Petrochemical Engineering in the subject Petroleum Engineering.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION

Successfully completed B.Tech in Chemical Engineering from Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Technological University, Lonere Maharashtra in 1998 with first class with Distinction (68.83%)

PROJECT & SEMINAR WORK DELIVERED:

PROJECT TITLE: Conversion of Fish Oil ( Cod lever Oil ) into Ecosopentinoic acid (EPA) & Docosohexainoic acid ( DHA ). I have used enzymatic hydrolysis reaction. I completed this project in the final year of my undergraduate studies.

SEMINAR TITLE: Food applications of Fats& Oils.

COMPUTER KNOWLEDGE:

LANGUAGES KNOWN: Learned & programmed in Fortran 77 as a part of University Curriculum.

SOFTWARE HANDLED: Have a good knowledge of MS OFFICE package and used it for quite a lot of times.
