PROJECT EXPERIENCES

Project#1

Title: "Remote Sensing, GIS & Geomorphometry for Watershed Development,
A Case Study of Racherla Watershed, Prakasam District

Duration: Nine months

Dated : Mar'2000 to Dec'2000.

Objective of the Project

Prioritization of eight micro watersheds based on Morphometric parameters and suggestion of Action plan and Water Resources Development plan

Description of the project
The Softwares used in the project are Remote Sensing, GIS & AutoCAD.

Remote Sensing in Project:

The raw data is collected from the "APSRAC" and by using Visual Interpretation Technique, the different Thematic maps which are needed for the project such as Drainage, Slope Land Use / Land Covered and Hyderogeomorpolog map are prepared.

GIS in Project

PC ARC/INFO 3.5 is used as GIS software for Editing Manipulating and Producing error free digital data.

Research Approach:

Step1: Different thematic maps that are prepared by using Remote Sensing data converted into vector data from Raster format through "AUTO CAD"
Step 2: The digitized thematic maps are imported to ARC/INFO Software.

Step 3: The Thematic maps are then edited, manipulated for the creation of error free digital data.
Step 4: All the thematic maps are overlaid on over other for the detail Analysis of the project as prioritization of watershed on Morphometeric bases, Ground water prospect, Actions plan for Land and water Resources Development Plan.

Step 5: All the objective maps are exported to Arc View for Presentation.

Project #2

Title: Preparation of Land use/ Land covers map for Hyderabad District.

Duration: 3 months

Description: Preparation of LU/LC map for Hyderabad Zonal Area

Sponsored: M.C.H., Hyderabad.

Experience #1

A GIS one month course was conducted by J.N.T.U., School of Environment .,in which I was one of the course coordinator.

Softwares Trained: Arc/Info, AutoCAD, Arc View.

Experence # 3:

As NAARM, is an academic institute, here we will undertake various GIS and IT courses, which includes preparations of various exercises by using different GIS softwares. I got a good experience in preparing exercises and conducting a training cells in GIS and IT fields.
