Working for Petroleum Development of Oman (P D O ) in Corrosion Control Contracts in North Oman covering approx. 3500km of Pipelines & 35 Production/ Pumping / Distribution stations.
Responsible for meeting all contractual requirements to maintain the pipeline corrosion monitoring & control as per PDO standards & procedures, as in-charge of the following:
DCVG Survey : Direct control (dc) is applied to pipeline by existing / temporary Cathodic protection system for determination of location and relative size of defects in corrosion protection coating (i.e.%IR ) by DCVG (DIRECT CURRENT VOLTAGE GRADIENT) survey.
CIP Survey : Pipe to soil potentials are measured at close intervals (5m ) continuously over the length of the pipeline to determine (i) location of defects in corrosion protective coating and electrical interference and (ii) status of cathodic protection system by close interval potential survey.
CIPS & DCVG Survey was carried out for the following lines , the repairs were prioritised as per survey, and coating rehabilitation programme was planned & co-ordinated . (Including sight supervision of coating and rehab. team undertaking excavation , pipeline cleaning, wrapping &reinstatement for the following lines).
