My experience of 5yrs in Project Management and co-ordinations both in Middle East and in India includes planning and controlling of medium and large size projects in which the responsibilities were performed to the utmost satisfaction of the clients & consultants. I am a graduate mechanical engineer and recently completed two years full time postgraduate programme in business administration (PGDBA) in a premier B-school in MumbaI, India with Operation Management as specialisation.

My full time PGDBA course, besides MBA skills, has sharpened my project management skills. It has also built into me strong business fundamentals.

As a Project Planning and co-ordination Engineer working with a major DCMEI (Design, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical & Instrumentation) Organisation involved in the construction & maintenance activities with PDO (Petroleum Development Oman), the largest oil & gas exploration company which is a conglomerate of SHELL, Holland, I was involved in tendering, contracts, planning, scheduling, monitoring, material planning & most importantly cost estimation/control of various ongoing projects. These projects involved micro level planning using all planning software’s like MS Projects, Suretrak & Primavera to achieve the completion target, with highest level of safety and quality.

As a Planning Engineer working with Petrochemical Business Unit of the largest engineering organisation in India, LARSEN & TOUBRO LTD, My responsibilities included preparing project schedules using advanced planning tools, monitoring & reporting, co-ordination with project engineers, job allocation, procurement follow up and preparation of job cost reports and cost statements.

About the ProjectThis is a comprehensive Oilfield Maintenance Service Contract involving engineering & construction of new facilities like gathering stations, cross country pipeline projects & development of infrastructure for new oil fields industry inclusive of installation & commissioning, flow lines, underground pipelines for Oil/Gas/Water, Hook-ups, modification and expansion of present facilities in live stations, carrying out various shutdowns, fabrication and erection of new gathering stations.

Duties & Responsibilities:-
Ø Liasioning with Client, Construction Manager, Project engineer, procurement follow up expediting to ensure timely completion.
Ø Attending planning, progress review & co-ordination meetings with client and discipline head.
Ø Cost estimation & control of projects
Ø Preparation of Macro and micro level planning shutdowns & critical activities.
Ø Preparation of daily work schedules, Progress evaluation, Preparation of weekly and monthly look ahead schedules.
Ø Estimation of manpower & plant requirement for new jobs.

My Contribution:-
Ø Preparation of resource requirements for Bid-Jobs which won five bid jobs of value 2.5lac USD, 3lac USD, 2.2lac USD, 1.8lac USD within a span of 10months. Ø Setting up a new construction team exclusive for Bid-Jobs.
Ø Proper planning of DCME&I job orders as well as the Bid-Jobs so that the above Bid-Jobs could be executed without much addition of plant and machines.
Ø My proposal of safety Bonanza was highly successful and was highly appreciated.Ø My proposal of zero cost evaluation and maintaining database helped the company to quote bid jobs at much lower rates than before.
