I. Academic Project:-
As a part of my Academic curriculum in M.sc, I conducted the aforementioned research work. The core objective of the dissertation is to find the antibacterial properties of Ocimum bacilicum Thyrisiflorum (Aq.) for gastroenteritic bacteria viz., Salmonella typhi, paratyphi a,b;Escherichia coli; Vibrio cholerae, parahaemolyticusStaphylococcus aureus;Shigella sonnei & Bacillus subtilis
Title:
1. STUDY OF INVITRO ANTIBACTERIAL PROPERTIES OF Ocimum bacilicum Thyrisiflorum (Aq.) for gastroenteritic bacteria.
Aim & Scope:Bacterial infections(Gastroenteritis) pose a threat to health, most notably in immunocompromised subjects, hence the need to find cost-effective, easily accessible, and selectively destructive & effective antimicrobial agent occupies paramount importance. Hence the core objective of the project was focused on the invitro antibacterial properties of O.bacilicum.

Ø To study the invitro antibacterial properties of O.bacilicum by Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) by estimating optical density value, comparitive to a control tube (Serial) dilution.
Ø To interpret the Zone of Inhibition through Agar well diffusion assay & Disc diffusion assay.
Ø The overall scope was to know the occurrence of antibacterial substance in the plant extract confirmed by the susceptibility of ?Test organisms?.
