EMPLOYMENT BACKGROUND :
After graduating in Mechanical Engineering from Regional Engineering College, Warangal, Andhra Pradesh, India, joined National Organic Chemical Industries Ltd. (NOCIL), Thane, India, a leading ISO 9002 certified petrochemical company set up in collaboration with the Royal Dutch Shell Group of Companies as Management Trainee in the engineering Division in July 1989. Worked in the Maintenance, Projects and Specialist Services departments of the Naphtha Cracker complex comprising of the Ethylene-Propylene Plant, PVC plant, Benzene and Butadiene Plant, boilers, cooling water, instrument air and other utilities, solvents and alcohols plant and workshops. Was Senior Engineer of Specialist Services department for over three years responsible for failure analysis, trouble shooting, safety and risk management and reliability enhancement of the plant and equipment.
Joined Lloyd’s Register of Shipping, a leading technical inspection, certification and advisory organization in February 1998as an Engineer Surveyor/Auditor/Assessor. Was responsible to undertake Safety and Risk assessments, Assessments of Quality & Environmental Management systems on behalf of Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance, U.K. Have carried out about 250 Quality Management System Assessments to ISO9001/9002 standards of various organizations such as engineering, manufacturing, consultancy, service industry, chemical processing and petrochemical Industries. Presently working with a leading multinational insurance company in Dubai since Dec 2000 as a Risk and Claims Engineer. Responsible for risk surveys, loss estimation, loss assessment/adjustment and claims handling related to industrial insurance.
NATURE OF WORK :
· Maintenanace of plant & equipment including piping (pressure vessels, boilers, pumps, engines, compressors,
· turbines, fired heaters etc.
· Inservice inspection and condition monitoring of plant and equipment and control of inspection records as per statutory regulations.
· Failure analysis and reliability enhancement.
· Safety and integrity of plant and equipment.
· Corrosion monitoring and control (coating and surface treatment of metals) and selection of materials (metallic and non-metallic).
· Vendor evaluation, inspection and approval of pressure vessels, piping and other mechanical hardware such as forging, castings, and wrought products, valves and fasteners.
· Maintenance and inspection of cross country Naphtha Pipeline (approx.30km.long)
· Technical verification and approval of drawings and purchase orders.
· Physical and chemical testing of materials including non-destructive examinations.
· Repair and overhaul of equipment in the workshops.
· Planning and execution monitoring during turnarounds.
· Familiar with codes and standards of design, construction and inspection such as ASTM, ASME, API, BS etc.
· Fully trained and conversant with the safety measures to be taken in a petrochemical plant.
· Office Management/administration and planning.
· Familiar with Environmental & Safety Management Systems and ISO 14000 and OHSAS 18000 series of standards.
