Research Experience
As part of my post Graduation in Applied Microbiology I have conducted Research Work dissertation entitled “Effectiveness of Commercial water Purifiers on Water borne pathogenic bacteria”. At T.I.M.L.T. Arcot & CMC Hospitals Vellore.

Summary
Commercially available water purifiers such as Aqua-guard, Aqua-pen, Zero B, Household candle filters was selected to test efficiency using the standard water borne Pathogenic Bacteria such as E.coli, S.typi, V.cholerae and S.dysentriae.

The Efficiency of Water purifiers were tested by treating the water samples, which inoculated with same water borne pathogens.Results were interpreted according to the efficiency in eliminating the Bacteria by the water purifiers.

Findings
The water purifiers Aqua - guard, Aqua - Pen were found to Purify the water effectively with reference to nil bacterial count, were as Zero B and Candle Type Filter failed to Purify the water comparatively, and has less Microbial count.
