was converted to vector. Landsat 7 satellite imagery was interpreted and updations in landuse and

geomorphology were made to the vector. The quality was checked according to the National Topographic

DataBase (NTDB) of Canada. These were later exported back in ASCII format and delivered back.
Software used:
ArcInfo, ArcView from ESRI®, FME from SAFE®, Oracle®.

· Easy Roads
Design and development of spatial and attribute database for Mumbai. The map prepared

provides information at a detailed scale and are to be hosted in the web. Various rounds of field

updations were done and changes are incorporated into the map, georeferenced using IRS-1C pan

image. Quality is crosschecked using GPS on ground. Using the base maps developed various analysis

are performed and applications are developed in various sectors like Utility, Planning, Resource

Management etc.
Software used:
ArcInfo, ArcNetwork, ArcView from ESRI®, ER Mapper®, AutoCAD from AutoDesk®, Georef Image

from SAFE®.

· Portland (India)
The project aim was to identify the best location for placing hoardings for Ms Portland India for

various clients, according to their market needs. After studying the consumer behavior various GIS

analysis like proximity, overlay, buffer etc. were performed on a combination of datasets (base maps,

demographic data, landmarks etc.) to find optimal locations for placing hoardings.
Software used:
ArcInfo, ArcView from ESRI®

· Sustainable tourism program for Kumarakom Panchayat Kerala State

from Survey of India Toposheets, Geologic and geomorphologic maps and Soil maps. Satellite imagery

(merged LISS III and PAN) was interpreted to get the current settings of detailed vegetation, water

resources, drainage patterns, Natural resources, soil types and geologic features. Slope maps are

created from the contours and DEM’s are generated These themes were used for multivariate analysis

and identifying the hazard zones and preparation of hazard zone maps.

various aspects pertaining to realtime marketing and sales. It can also be used as an analyzing tool,

which will show spatially the Customer profiling, Customer segmentation, Customer spread, Customer

penetration etc. It is developed in such a manner that it can be adapted by any industry which.

Project Done During Training:
Based on the contour data, slope analysis was done on the existing meter gauge railway sector

from Quilon to Senkottai. Contour lines of 20 mts interval were used to prepare the Digital Terrain

Model of the area. Those area which have a gradient of less than 1 in 100 were identified.
