LPG Import Facilities include – Instrumentation Systems in Jetty (Marine Unloading arms, Ship-Shore ESD link, Fiscal Standard Metering, G & F Detection, Interlock Systems etc.), Cryogenic Storage Systems, Boil Off and Refrigeration Compressor Systems, C3 / C4 Blending, Steam generation and other Utility plants, Truck Tanker and Wagon Tanker Loading Gantries etc.


The LPG import facilities project was required to be built utilizing the latest state of the art Instrumentation Systems. Responsible for Philosophy Definition, preparation of various control schemes, an on-line blending control scheme (which dispenses with the need for an intermediate storage tank) complete LSTK package specifications for Instrumentation and systems, scrutiny and monitoring of the LSTK contractor’s documents, drawings, their sub-vendor documents and supplies for ensuring compliance with the LSTK contract specifications. The Instrument Systems include :-

• Terminal management System (TMS) / Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition System (SCADAS) with LAN Topologies.
• Distributed Control System (DCS).
• Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), FSC Type - Emergency Shut Down (ESD) and Safety Interlock system.
• Terminal Automation System (TAS), Loading Gantry Instrumentation and Tank Farm Management systems utilizing custody transfer / fiscal standard Instrumentation.
• Gas and Flame Detection systems with hard wired connectivity with DCS for status.
• Microprocessor based Fire Monitoring and Protection Systems with repeat fire alarm panels and connectivity to process inter locks and ESD.

ERECTION SUPERVISION FOR NFL, VIJAIPUR / NFCL ,KAKINADA/DMW IOCL, BARODA – POSTED AS LEAD ENGINEER

Supervision of Installation, Testing, Pre-commissioning, of Urea Plant Instrumentation Systems including the Compressors.
Some of the other responsibilities include - Guidance and close vigilance during shop testing, calibration, installation, power up and functional checking of instruments and systems. Simulation, testing and commissioning of Unit Control schemes like Anti surge and Capacity Control for rotating machinery (Compressors). Functional checking and simulation of ESD, Interlock & Alarm Circuits, Control loops, Panels etc. and assistance during pre-commissioning and start up of the plant.

NFCL ,KAKINADA PH-II Posted as a Lead Engineer mainly for Co-ordination for Design and Implementation of changes as required by owner in DCS and PLC of Ammonia and Urea Plant.

ESTABLISH USE OF PC FOR INSTRUMENTATION AND FULLY IMPLIMENTED DURING NFCL,KAKINADA PH-II PROJECT

Development of various in-house software for Design, Engg. & Procurement activities namely -- Calculation for sizing, database for Instrument B.O.Q., preparation of Spec. for Instruments Items etc. and same has been used for Instrument job for various projects.
