Present Status

Organisation :I was selected in interview in May, 2000 by D.C.M. Engg. Products, an automotive grey iron foundry unit of well known D.C.M. group. This unit is located near Chandigarh, having an annual production capacity of 36000 M.T. and is catering to the needs of automobile Giants like Ford, Maruti, General Motors, Hyundai, Eicher, Daewoo and M & M Ltd. etc. There are about 2000 persons working with organisation. ISO 9002 and QS 9000 was awarded to this unit by BVQI (UK) in 1994 & 1997 respectively.

Designation : Senior Executive (Q.A.)
Department : Lab is engaged in preparing core sand and moulding Sand mixture, metallurgical testing & chemical testing of different raw materials and vendor development.

Responsibilities:
* Incoming, in process and final product inspection, testing and development of alternate Sources of raw materials.
* Vendor quality rating as per IS:12040 and organize meetings with Vendors at regular interval to improve the quality.
* Auditing vendors to assess their capacity, quality system and Process.
* Working on different core sand technologies like Shell,Hot box, No-bake, Pep-set, Cold box & Oil sand etc.
* Documentation as per QS 9000. It's effective implementation and follow up.
* Application of continuous improvement techniques, control Charts, PFMEA, Snap study for improving the output of Process and defect preventation.
*Training of Supervisors, Chemists and Operatives regarding Quality system, control plans, SPC, 5-S, house keeping, safety Standards and skill development.
* Undertaken various work improvement projects and member of cross-functional teams for reducing foundry rejection,customer rejection and input cost reduction.
