Ø More than 4-6 years of experience in Unix system administration on Solaris, Linux and Windows NT.
Ø Strong Unix administration skills on Sun Enterprise Servers, including performing sizing, tuning and networking.
Ø Efficient in independently handling large installations
Ø On-hand experience on set-up and trouble-shooting Sun Clusters and Veritas Cluster Frame Work.
Ø Hands-on experience on the maintenance and trouble shooting of Veritas Volume Manager, Sun Solstice Disk Suite and Sun RAID Manager.
Ø Must have sound knowledge about SAN and NAS technologies.
Ø Well versed in Unix Shell scripting, Perl Programming, AWK, and knowledge of Make, GCC and GDB tools.
Ø Implementation and troubleshooting NIS/NIS+, DNS, Apache, Samba on various Unix flavors and AutoFS, PC-NFS on Solaris.
Ø Good knowledge on messaging systems like Sendmail, Qmail, iPlanet and Netscape
Ø Experience in Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet network interfaces
Ø Thorough knowledge of network topologies and protocol like TCP/UDP/IP, SNMP, SMTP, POP3, IMAP, DHCP, NTP, FTP, HTTP, RADIUS and LDAP
Ø Good knowledge in System and Network security

Experience

· 4-6 years of advanced Unix System Administration experience in a consulting organization / reputed IT services company
· Led project teams in Unix implementation essential
· Excellent communication skills & customer relationships
· Leadership qualities & strong team player
· International experience in handling diversity preferred

Education

· Essential: Graduate in Engineering
· Industry certifications in Sun System Administration I & II, preferred
