Job Title : Production Operator ( Plants & Satellites )

Minimum Requirements:

· Maximum age 40 years.

· Completion of Secondary technical education (12 years), plus direct vocational training (6-12 months).

· 3 years experience in operation of oil field / refinery; offshore experience preferable.

· Good knowledge of English.

Scope of Duties:

· Make regular routine checks of all equipment and units to ensure that they are functioning correctly in accordance with standard operating procedures.

· Report all equipment and instrument defects and leaks immediately to his Senior Operator / Supervisor and take any possible corrective action.

· Check and record in the plant log sheet twice a day a variety of readings such as oil and gas flow, temperature and pressure, and record unusual occurrence after reporting them to his Senior Operator / Supervisor.

· Start, check or stop pumps locally according to instructions or in case of emergency.

· Open or close the injection water distribution manifold on the satellites which receive treated water from the Central Complex water injection plant and distribute it to the relevant wellhead platforms under the guidance of the Senior Operator.

· During the start up of equipment remotely (such as booster pumps, air compressors, separators) assists in checking and following the start up sequence.

· Assist in isolating, draining, purging and handing over equipments for maintenance on inspection and check the equipment for its correct operation when the maintenance job is completed.

· Assist in the preparation of pressure vessels for inspection / maintenance.

· Assist in carrying out the routine weekly run tests of equipment like emergency diesel generator, diesel and electrical fire pumps, etc.

· Participate, under instructions, in launching pigs into pipelines; prepare pig receiver stations, remove the pig and check it for damage under the guidance of Senior Operator.

· Unload chemicals into tanks for injection; start and adjust the flow rate of chemical injection pumps as required.

· Check the water/oil interface level in sump tanks and operate their pumps locally when required.

· Collect oil, gas and water samples and pass to laboratory for analysis.

· Initiate and lead fire fighting or other emergency actions in his area until it is taken over by a higher authority.

· Maintain good housekeeping and ensure the satellite is kept clean and tidy.

· Monitors and controls all activities within his area of responsibility are conforming to "HSE standards & guide lines" set by the company.

· Equipment Operated :
Gas/oil separators, Booster Pumps, Transfer Pumps, Emergency Diesel Generator, Diesel & Electrical Fire Water Pumps, Air Compressors, Electro-chlorinators, HVAC Systems, Fire & Gas Detection & Protection System etc.
