Job Title : Senior Operator ( Plant & Satellites )

Minimum Requirements:

· Age 45 years (maximum).

· Completion of Secondary technical education (12 years), plus advanced vocational technical qualification.

· 5 years experience in an oil field/refinery operations; offshore experience preferable.

· Good knowledge of English.

Scope of Duties:

· Operate and monitor the production and utility systems in remote satellites, central separation plant & gas treatment plant, water injection plant and power generation plant in accordance with standard operating procedures and specific instructions in order to ensure that production targets are met and that plants & satellites are operating efficiently, safely and economically.

· Handles and operate the plant he has been assigned (CSP/GTP, PGP, WIP & Satellites) with his team of operator(s) and helper(s) as per directives from his Supervisor / higher authority.

· Monitors and controls all activities within his area of responsibility are conforming to "HSE standards & guide lines" set by the company and permit to work system is strictly adhered.

· Issue work permits already approved by supervisor after making sure that all safety precautions prescribed in the permit (including gas tests) are fulfilled, and closely follow up the job. Check the equipment for correct operation when maintenance work is completed.

· Give work instructions and guidance to operators and helpers working with him in accordance with established programmes and direct instructions.

· Undertake regular routine checks of all equipment and units to ensure that they are functioning correctly in accordance with standard operating procedures, and ensure that all relevant operating data are recorded on the log sheets.

· Maintain log sheets to enter operating data and shift log book to record important occurrences such as process upset, equipment breakdown etc.

· Report all equipment and instrument defects to his supervisor and take any possible immediate corrective action.

· Under specific instructions, adjust the set points of local controllers.

· Coordinate with FCC Senior Panel Operators during start-up and shutdown and routine equipment changeover.

· Start or stop equipment like pumps and compressors and open/close valves locally according to instructions or in case of emergency.

· Perform routine test of emergency and safety equipment.

· Conduct field quality checks like millipore, free chlorine content, etc. and record the results. Collect oil and water samples and pass them to laboratory for analysis.

· Receive chemicals, diesel, water and other consumables from supply boats.

· Start and adjust the flow rate of chemical injection pumps as required, and logs chemical consumption rates and tank levels.

· Coordinate with Maintenance and Safety during preventive maintenance on fire and gas system.

· Initiate and lead fire fighting or other emergency actions in his area until it is taken over by a higher authority.

· Carry out pigging operations as required.

· Prepare vessels by isolating, draining, inerting, spading and ventilating for maintenance/inspection in accordance with approved procedure.

· Light the flare by shooting flare cartridges.

· Maintain good housekeeping and ensure that the plant is neat and tidy.
