Job Title : Building Services / Mechanical Engineer

Location : UAE (Middle East)

Salary Range : Salary Negotiable.

Minimum Requirements:

· B. Sc. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

· Primary - Design engineering and specification of services required to buildings.

· Secondary - Design engineering of mechanical engineering works (piping systems, pneumatic systems).

· 'Buildings' may be located onshore at remote processing plants or offshore on oil/gas production platforms
'Buildings' may be living quarters (including galley, laundry etc), switchgear / control room modules, etc. all as required for the operation of manned process facilities.

· 'Building services' includes potable water supply, salt water supply, waste water disposal, sewage disposal systems, encompassing storage facilities (tanks), piping and mechanical systems, and fire protection systems (Fire mains, sprinklers, hydrants, hoses etc).

· A minimum of 5 years experience in the design engineering of building services as defined above.

· Experience must include all of the services described above. Additional experience in associated systems (electrical, HVAC, building design) would be advantageous.

· Experience with offshore buildings as well as onshore buildings would be advantageous but not essential.

· Experience in external supply and disposal infrastructure systems (piping and storage) and in internal 'plumbing' (to personnel hygiene units, shower units etc) is essential.

· The ability to develop 'flow schemes', size piping and other components for the required service, and define the protection, termination, support, and building penetration details is essential.

· Interface experience with structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, HVAC disciplines is essential.

· Familiarity with design codes and standards is essential. Familiarity with international codes and standards is preferred but not essential.

· Additional experience is some mechanical engineering works is also required, and design of instrument air or pneumatic systems would be beneficial.

· Flexibility in taking on new work assignments, an ability to learn quickly, and a willingness to take on new challenges are essential qualities that will be expected of the successful candidate.
