Minimum Requirements:
· Higher Secondary School Certificate and Electrical Trade Diploma.
· 3 - 5 years working experience in maintenance and repair of Electrical Systems.
· Good knowledge of English language & Arabic (spoken & written).
· Valid UAE driving License.
Scope of Duties:
· To undertake a variety of low voltage electrical maintenance, installation and repairs on generators (diesel and other), motors, transformers, UPS, rectifiers, batteries, switch gears, fire fighting equipment systems, time control, lighting and control panels and sub stations, instrumentation, control and electronics works.
· Obtains work assignments from Supervisor, collects materials and tools required to undertake repairs, checks on status of spare parts to be supplied, identifies missing parts and proceeds to work site.
· Undertakes, installations repair. diagnostics and maintenance of low and medium voltage equipment, switchgear, control panels. and associate wiring circuits in the plant, machinery, equipment, buildings, structures and grounds. Examines wiring and circuit diagrams, locates, faults, measures and checks wire and connection tolerances.
· Inspects and evaluates electrical systems and equipment for malfunction and needed repairs. Carries out electrical maintenance on primary and secondary systems of single and three phase voltage equipments including cleaning and checking various electrical equipment. Carries out various tests and records readings taken on insulation resistance levels, breakdown voltages, low voltage thermal relays and each leakage relays wherever applicable.
· Provides input for the Preventative and Predictive Maintenance Plan. Performs regular routine inspection and maintenance of all electrical equipment including low voltage motors, transformers, generator equipment, motorized valves, switch gear, control and relay panels. Visually inspects, checks, measures and records. Greases and tightens equipment. Investigates terminal boxes, colors and rectifies inaccuracies.
· Maintains lighting systems, repair and replacement of lamps and starters, repairing circuit faults, power outlets and distribution boxes. Maintain the electrical motors of a variety of workshop machine tools and equipment i.e. lathes, drills, and welding equipment. Also carries out all electrical activities during plant shutdown. Checks battery backs and maintains electrolyte levels.
· Installs electrical power and control cables for the electrical supply of new installations & responsible for installing low voltage cabling as required.
· Complies with all safety, security and fire rules and regulations including the use of protective clothing and equipment. Maintains work environment in a clean and tidy condition including removal of wastes and spillages.
· Provides recommendations for inventory of consumable materials, parts and tools by requesting replenishment and returning unused materials to Department. Prepares spare parts requests and repair of existing electrical and electronic lab instruments.
· Performs other similar or related duties as and when assigned by direct supervisor.
