Job Title : Mechanical Technician ( L & G )

Minimum Requirements:

· Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.

· 5-6 years experience in mechanical maintenance of depots and plants and least 3 years in supervisory capacity.

· PC literacy.

· Good Knowledge of English and Arabic.

· Valid UAE driving license.

Scope of Duties:

· To plan and carryout efficient execution of preventive maintenance and repair activities on both static and rotating mechanical equipment and installations in the workshops in Plant area. To ensure optimum utilization of manpower and material resources in implementation of scheduled maintenance programs.

· Supervises the staff in the service, repair and maintenance activities of all mechanical equipment such as storage tanks, various types of pumps, product lines, mechanical measurement meters, air compressors, etc. at depots and terminals at all locations. Co-relates between the repair mechanics and other areas in the fabrication of specific equipment including using catalogues and blueprints to design / build parts. Supervises the activities of the carpenter shop, the welding works and the paint shop employees in providing services to the company, the fleet and regional offices. Inspects completed work assignments.

· Implements the use of computerized maintenance system and calibration instruments, vibration analysis techniques and self-diagnostic systems to detect and diagnose problems.

· Inspects and evaluates mechanical systems and equipments for any repair / maintenance works required. Schedules the preventive maintenance program. Schedules and assigns all mechanical repair and preventive maintenance works amongst mechanical staff. Supervises the installation, maintenance and repair of heating, cooling, gas and process piping in accordance with recognized procedures and techniques.

· Makes recommendations to supervisor for modifications, and improvements required on various equipments i.e., new constructions, replacement of under ground tanks or pipelines, development of basic plot plans and layouts, etc.

· Supervises all. disassembling-reassembling, repair, replacement, modification, calibration, overhaul and final testing etc. carried out by mechanics to ensure smooth progress of all scheduled repair and preventive maintenance works.

· Arranges transfer of equipment for repair and delivery of equipment and product to various locations with crane and sludge tanker.

· Supervises all plumbing, masonry, welding, carpentry and painting works carried out for filling stations, Lube oil customer equipments, and private / governmental filling stations. Supervises installation, maintenance and repair of GG, CS, UPVC and flexible piping in accordance with recognised procedures and techniques.

· Maintains daily work records and orders. Coordinates with staff for scheduling and implementation of required repair and maintenance works.

· Prepares service work orders for major maintenance works. Follows up and coordinates with contractors and reports to Infrastructure Maintenance Manager and Head. Closes work orders after completion of maintenance works (in-house or contracted) for all filling stations. Prepares total actual cost of works including manpower, equipment, spare parts.

· Identifies required materials and equipment for purchases, ensures adequate inventory.

· Processes and follows up all store and purchase requisitions for any parts or equipments required for maintenance or filling stations. Processes GRN (Good Received Notes) and VPA (Vendor Payment Advices) on the system for any supplies / materials received.

· Stays on call (standby) 24/7 365 days per year for any emergency calls.

· Performs other related duties such as preparing feasibility reports on new projects and modifications, preparing annual budget estimates, coordinating with other sections on projects, meetings to optimise cost effectiveness etc.
