Job Title : Piping Design Draftsman

Location : UAE (Middle East)

Salary Range : Salary Negotiable.

Minimum Requirements:

· Completion of Secondary Technical Education followed by 3 years full time formal education at a Technical Institute leading to a recognized Diploma in Engineering and Draftsmanship.

· Good Knowledge of computers and high skill in using CAD software (AutoCAD and Add-on application software).

· 4 years experience in Engineering Design and Drafting in oil or heavy Process Engineering industries.

· Good knowledge of English.

Scope of Duties:

· Produces Design drawings from a general description of requirements received from Engineers. Also produces final detail drawings, Schedules and bills of materials, ensuring accuracy and conformity with acceptable Codes of Practice.

· Work covers all Company Drawings, including Process, Mechanical, Piping, air-conditioning, Civil, Structural, Architectural, Electrical, Cathodic Protection, Telephone, Fire Alarm and Fighting, Instrumentation and Control.

· Studies basic information received from Job Engineers and analyses design drafting work requests, considering all aspects of the work being carried out.

· Discusses with Job Engineers and Senior Design Draftsman and seeks further clarification from client Divisions, previous technical information and drawings.

· Ascertains facts, verifies design proposals, takes measurements and prepares sketches through site visits.

· Makes the necessary calculations and prepares design details ensuring compliance with Company's Standards and Codes of Practice, and meeting Installations, Operations, Maintenance and Safety requirements.

· Produces Detailed Design Engineering drawings, Layouts and general arrangements, Isometrics, Hook-ups, Circuit Diagrams, Wiring Diagrams, Loop Diagrams, etc., Bills of Material, Project Documentation and schedules.

· Liaises with other sections in the Design Drafting office through Senior Designer to ensure timely and efficient contribution.

· Ensures compliance with scheduled programs and observes timing.

· Arranges for the reproduction/circulation of drawings to engineers.

· Maintains engineering records up-to-date.

· Stands-in for the Senior Design draftsman during leave / absence, etc.
