Unix Systems Administrator (Tokyo) - Based in Tokyo -
Salary to $80,000(USD)and performance bonuses of 20%.
Premiere financial services company with global
operations is looking for a unique individual to serve
as Unix Systems Administrator for a network consisting
of 20 Unix clients,5 Unix servers, 2 Windows NT servers
and 20 NT 4.0 PC's. Users are both end users and
developers. Responsibilities include: maintenance and
operations of all systems, user support, backup/restore
,systems upgrades, problem detection and correction,
hardware maintenance, keeping abreast of current
technology and reporting on it to management.
The successful candidate will speak, read and write
English (as well as Japanese) and have 3+ years
experience and solid familiarity with Unix and NT
operating sytems (Unix preferred), particularly
SunOS 4.1.x and Solarix 2.x, NT 3.51 and 4.0.
Sybase knowledge and financial familiarity are desired.
Additionally, knowledge of shell programming languages
(sh, csh, perl), and abilities to administer Sun and
Unix applications such as NFS, NIS, automounter and
email. Familiarity with trading and market data
applications a plus (Reuters, Telerate, ATW, Bloomberg)
, and experience with network technology are both
pluses.
