Description: Candidates must have a solid track record of individual achievement and teamwork sales in the industry. Excellent written and spoken Japanese and English are required. Most sales will be via established local distributors, however the successful candidate must be skilled in technical sales as well as possess superior managerial talent.

Candidate must be a "hands on," non-bureaucratic type of sales manager with a fast-paced and strategic style. Through his or her personal example of achievement in overcoming obstacles, he has the ability to influence others, and has the desire to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities:
--Manage the day-to-day sales activities in Japan and ensure the local distribution sales team operates at maximum productivity and efficiency. Plan and execute customer penetration strategies that are aligned with the Company's business objectives.
--Developing business relationships with local OEMs to secure design wins; and telecom carriers to increase Japan Division's business opportunities. Act as an evangelist for the company in the local marketplace.
--Provide input to the VP Sales regarding strategic direction, including refining the business model, maximizing revenue, finding new markets, and successfully implementing policies and procedures as the company grows.
--Maintain market knowledge of the industry, assessing the competitive landscape, and potential opportunities and trends to assure competitive position.
--Effectively communicate with the headquarters about the specific needs of customers and be a focal point of information for the Japanese market.
--Over the long term: build an organization by attracting, motivating and maintaining a high performance team of salespeople and FAEs.
--Produce reports and presentations for customers and co-workers.
--Track business opportunities in order to close sales on a timely basis.
--Travel is required for sales meetings and customer appointments.

Qualifications/ Job Requirements & Experience Needed:
--10+ years of experience in the networking semiconductor industry.
--6+ years sales management in Japan, including working with distributors and sales reps.
--a Bachelor's degree in a related discipline; an engineering degree and technical sales experience is preferred
--Exceptional general management and operational abilities along with proven personal sales skills including presentations, forecasts, customer support and closing the sale.
--Knowledge of embedded systems software, IP SEC and 'last mile' technologies is a plus.
--Proven experience in a management role within a small company environment
--Strong interpersonal communications, leadership abilities and flexibility in daily routine.
--Well-developed problem solving skills; ability to act independently
--Experience preparing and delivering detailed product presentations to customers and employees for sales and training.
