Position : Marketing Manager, Osaka, Japan
Reports to : Market Manager, North Asia
Supervise : 3 Direct reports (Technical Services Manager, Colour Executive and Information Specialist).
Job Scope:
The Marketing Manager will be responsible for the following:
· Provides inputs for the development of the company’s vision from a marketing perspective.
· Develops the Marketing Plan to achieve sales budget and strategic corporate goals.
· Identifies business opportunities and develops businesses in line with the Business strategy in North Asia.
· Provides inputs for the development of the Japan sales budget.
· Provides inputs, when needed, for the assessment of strategic alliance opportunities.
· Provides market perspective to assist the Branch Managers in determining the sales strategy and price negotiations, etc of key customers.
· Coordinates with Marketing Managers in the other regions to ensure an effective and coordinated approach to handling global accounts.
· Develops strong relationship with key customers to better understand and anticipate customer’s and market’s needs.
· Provides market inputs to facilitate the Technical Services team in their development work for its customers in the Japan (North Asia) region.
· Provides inputs to define, review and negotiate business processes (supply chain, logistics, IT, etc.) that are critical to the Taiwan business success.
· Conducts feasibility studies and introduces more products from Europe to ensure continuous growth in Japan.
· Compiles and analyzes competition/market information so as to develop effective marketing strategies.
· Recommends and executes market positioning and pricing strategies company’s products in the Japan market and communicates to the management team.
· Provides data and information to the Branch Managers and customers for knowledge sharing.
Requirements:
· B.S. or M.S. undergraduate in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Economics or Finance
· MBA a plus
· Must be native Japanese with overseas working experiences, preferably with multinational corporations.
· Minimum 10 years experience, with last 5 years being in a marketing/sales position.
· Experience in coatings/chemical related industry a strong advantage.
· Proven track record in marketing premium products/services.
· Besides Japanese, must have the ability to speak fluent English.
· Demonstrable traits like not risk adverse, not resistant to change, willing to try new ideas etc.
