SUMMARY:
Based in Hong Kong, employee will develop, manage and maintain a series of wireless data products.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and maintain embedded software products. Design, specify and document product functionality. Some hardware engineering may also be required, along with performing engineering support, documentation and other miscellaneous tasks.
SKILLS:
Education and experience with assembly and 'C' a must.
Applicant should have experience with assembly and CO for the Motorola Coldfire family of processors (5204/5249 ) as well as experience in all aspects of hardware development. Applicant should have knowledge of basic serial communication principles as well as specific knowledge and experience with IP, UDP, synchronous and asynchronous communication and RS232.
Good working knowledge of Visual Basic or Delphi, , TCP/IP, other processors such as the Atmel AVR and the Motorola 68HC05 family
Knowledge of real-time coding needed.
Understanding of basic TCP/IP principles and mobile data transmission / reception techniques highly desirable.
Appreciation of any of the the following subject matter preferred: GPS modules, NMEA protocol, 2 way radio, GSM, CDPD, Satellite data services, detailed modem operation, DSP techniques, basic GIS principles.
MINIMUM EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Some formal training and five years programming experience with assembly and C Or Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; with two years of experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGES:
Acceptable written and oral English skills required.
