Actively participate in full life cycle application development of long term proprietary software in an N-tiered, environment. Actively and independently take part in business analysis for today and tomorrow based on jointly defined goals, researching both technological and business process solutions. Incorporate complex application feature requests through solid design architecture, coding methodologies and best practices. Possess strong problem solving skills and customer service attitude and focus. A motivated self-starter that is able to work independently and in teams on tasks and project with limited supervision.
Specific Responsibilities
Develop, document, and maintain proprietary business applications currently based on and built upon Microsoft SQL Server, IIS, ASP and .NET technologies
Successfully develop supporting applications and move business modules to Linux (debian) platform
Aid in enhancing, maintaining, monitoring, and troubleshooting business applications and technologies through effective problem-solving, organization and communication skills
Take part in planning of future system needs
Independently conduct research efforts based on defined goals and present/communicate alternatives to solving these goals
Effectively work and communicate with business users to understand both department and global business processes
Transform business processes and needs into technological requirements and solutions
Perform structured systems testing, both unit and end-to-end

Skills
English - Good English proficiency – very good understanding of written English and good English writing skills.
Database - Thorough understanding of a major relational database such as SQL Server, Sybase, Oracle, DB2 and/or understanding of and experience with open source
Coding practices - Possess a strong personal desire and ability to produce error-free and well tested solutions that meet requirements
Systems analysis - Good “feel” for (and high interest in) systems analysis, business process frameworks and modelling
Fast and eager learner – We use a plethora of tools for development, and you will need to quickly learn new applications and get productive with them
Strong problem solving and analysis
Good team player with very good communications, interpersonal and organizational skills
Web-based application development experience
Application lifecycle management understanding
Necessary tech skills
OOP - Object-Oriented Programming, Object-oriented analysis using a known framework (RUP or previous) and language (Java, C++, OO Pascal/Delphi, equivalent)
Systems analysis and design
RDMS design, SQL coding
Experience of Windows network based software development, client server, web based N-tiered or the like.
Educational Requirements:
B.S. in Computer Science, Information Science, Informatics or related field (or equivalent work experience
Experience Required:
Minimum 2 years of application development using either ASP/IIS, PHP/Apache, MS SQL Server/equivalent

Visual Studio 6.0/.NET
MS IIS (Internet Information Services) webserver
Microsoft SQL Server 7.0/2000
Administration and/or deployment experience of N-tiered applications in a corporate environment

Ability to lift 40 pounds as needed to install equipment in sometimes physically demanding positions
