POSITION TITLE: General Operations Manager
LOCATION: Hong Kong
REPORTS TO: Retail Manager - Headquarter and Local
Board of Directors
THE COMPANY: The Company is a newly set up joint venture between an international fashion brand and its local distribution agent. It has a full range of ladies and men's high fashion wear marketed in Hong Kong. The high standards of quality, workmanship and design, and their retail network and services have made them successful in the international world.
JOB PURPOSE: Due to business evolution, this brand has become independently operated and has the recruitment need for a General Operations Manager in charge of its overall retail operation and management in Hong Kong.
The missions of this position are to :-
Develop the brand’s sales and profitability in Hong Kong through creative and effective use of all resources.
Manage and oversee all store operations on a day to day basis, sales team organisation and staffing, local marketing, customer services, visual merchandising and inventory control.
Develop and ensure best practices and efficient management through an active co-ordination with the store manager’s team.
MAIN
RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. BUSINESS PLANNING
Develop a clear goal and action plans to achieve the optimum level of results and the objectives set; and

Analyze sales, accounting data and make recommendation for future business direction and position.
2. SALES MANAGEMENT
Develop new accounts;
Monitor the team’s performance to ensure that excellent customer service is maintained;
Act to ensure customer satisfaction on company services and products at all times;
Communicate to the team all corporate developments, policies and procedures; and
Be aware of local trading environment, including competition follow-up and tourism markets.
3. STAFF MANAGEMENT
Jointly with the store managers, hire, evaluate, train and position the staff in a manner consistent with corporate policies, to reflect business strategy and meet sales goals;
Motivate the team to achieve sales goals through appropriate incentives;
Ensure proper analysis of coverage and appropriate scheduling;
Enforce company policies and procedures;
Encourage and support the individual development of staff and communicate to the Broad of Director of staff suggestions and needs;
Promote and maintain harmonious staff relations; and
Develop standards, training procedures for all new employees and implement a yearly training plan for all employees.

4. MECHANDISE MANAGEMENT
Research and study changes in market trend;
Compile the Purchase Order and follow-up orders with the overseas shipping department;
Review merchandise assortment. Plan and take necessary steps to have the optimum stock level and mix to reflect sales and to reflect buying trends and customer demands; and
Instruct and supervise store managers in the correct performance of all company operating procedures including merchandise receipt, pricing, inventory and sales control.
5. HOUSEKEEPING
Implement and follow proper visual presentation guidelines to project the corporate image;
Ensure timely window and interior display changes to aggressively feature various new items and create excitement; and
Ensure that the highest standard of housekeeping both on and off the sales floor at all times are maintained.
6. PUBLIC RELATIONS & MARKETING
Bring positive exposure of the corporate brand through participation of events for local causes, fundraising and charity;

Actively promote and market the corporate brand through hosting or participating in special events for the purpose of networking and positive long term business relations; and
Coordinate high profile events such as Valentine’s, Mother’s Day VIP functions to promote the corporate brand.
7. ADMINISTRATIVE AND OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT
Oversee all facts of the division operations including payroll, billing, daily reconciliation reports, bank statement, and sales reports;
Act to control cost (payroll hours, supplies, telephone, postage, shipping, etc.) for effectively run operation; and
Approve requests (all leave and purchase) that affect store’s operations;
Implement group internal control procedures and shrinkage control guidelines to prevent inventory discrepancies; and
Implement and support all security measures.
8. COMMUNICATION AND REPORTING
Keep key members informed of business situations relating to each department (Finance, Human Resources, Merchandising and other applicable areas);
Keep Board of Directors informed of decisions and procedures made in the store level relating to business issues;
Obtain approval prior to implementation of programs or procedures; and
Provide clear and informative business review.
