POSITION TITLE:
Assistant Vice President – Training & Development

LOCATION:Hong Kong (initially), & then Shanghai based

THE COMPANY: A Fortune 50 international insurance and financial services organization engaging in life and general insurance, property, and investment in the world. A licensed insurance company in China, the company has currently more than 2,000 staff and around 20,000 agents in China.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
1 Plan and direct staff training and development strategies for the Mainland China Region covering the business operations of life and non-life insurance and other IT related businesses;
2 Set up T&D systems; standardize and align learning practices for synergy. Develop China-specific training roadmaps and programs for various levels of staff;
3 Manage and supervise the performance of training managers (based in Guangzhou and Shanghai) in areas of program design, training delivery for programs of supervisory and managerial levels and special training projects;
4 Coach and develop Mainland trainers located in Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen in areas of need analysis, training administration, training evaluation and post-training follow-up support;
5 Collaborate to implement organizational development projects in areas of executive development, key staff development, management associate development and so forth;
6 Build and enhance the network and relations with profound universities in the Mainland for academic exchange and local talent development;
7 Provide counsel, advice and coaching to management in areas Talent Management, Organizational Development and Learning & Development;
8 Conduct a need assessment of staffing competency against the organizational profile and business objectives to determine training and organizational effectiveness initiatives;
9 Manage the implementation of succession planning and performance management systems and processes. Working in concert with GM to ensure individual development plans are developed and tracked for key talent, particularly, the high performers;
10 Drive innovative change programs to promote a high performance yet caring culture, overseeing the implementation and interpretation of employee surveys and developing and implementing action plans to address opportunities;
11 Facilitate development and training programs to enhance the effectiveness of the leadership, managerial and customer-facing employees;
12 Direct the interpretation and communication of action plans in support of the Employer of Choice Survey; direct employee relations programs to maintain a high level of employee morale and implement processes to institutionalise the desired company culture.

ROLE & AUTHORITY:
1. Assist the Vice President – Human Resources China in all corporate training and development, organization development and change management initiatives and programs for China;

2. Direct and launch all training and development, organization development and change management programs with the local Training Managers and Trainers in China;

3. Monitor and control training and development budgets, quality and standard.
