SPECIFIC DUTIES, ACTIVITIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Consulting assignment to review reticulated foam production process and make recommendations to improve efficiency of raw material use, reduce environmental impact of emissions and waste. Benchmark competitors for best-practice. Devise methods of re-integrating post-production waste into input stream. Explore options for substitution of organics for inorganic materials. Perform preliminary life-cycle analysis.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Understanding of the principles and goals of sustainability. Experience dealing with clients in on-site consulting assignments. Ability to explore rapidly the feasibility of a broad range of options.
REPORTS TO: Project Director (Consultancy)
SUPERVISES: n/a
EDUCATION: M.S. in Chemical Engineering. Higher degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE OR EQUIVALENT: 5-7 years experience in process design for foam industry.
BENEFITS: None
SALARY RANGE: $60/hr
DIRECT HIRE/CONTRACT: (If contract- time frame) Contract, part-time 2-3 months.
