Proprietary trading firm working in sophisticated investment strategies require a Database Administrator to perform and address data architecture, data administration, proper handling of storage management, backup and recovery, performance monitoring and tuning, and database integrity and security.
Will be working with various development teams to provide high quality data storage and retrieval solutions, evaluate data feeds and efficient processes for loading data and be competent in trouble shooting and resolving all aspects of data related problems.
Must have a minimum of three years experience in an information systems role, proficient in SQL, Database modelling experience, Sybase ASE experience, ability to program in scripting languages such as k-shell, c-shell and perl, strong UNIX background (preferably Solaris). Strong C++/OO programming skills and financial background are compulsory! Bachelors degree in finance, computer science or business ideal.
The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to function independently in a fast-paced, dynamic, and demanding environment and be able to work on a number of simultaneous projects with minimal supervision and exemplary follow-through.
