Duration of the practice semester :
My College requires at least 100 working days
between August 3rd 1998 and February 26th 1999.
Training aim as required by my College : The aim of the
practice semester is to work in the professional field
of automatized plants and process control system and
to get more information about our study by working in
a company under supervision of a manager of the company.
Personal ideas concerning my practice semester : My conception would be to participate in a project work together with one or more employees of your company in the areas :
- control engineering, control system and control
technology
- electrical engineering / electronics
- data processing and software application
- project planning and marketing of automatized plants
and processes measurement technology
- construction of automatized components, machines and
plants
- handling engineering
- microelectronics investigation and evolution,
test panel
- Project mangement
- administration company
- internal environmental control and prophylactic
measures.
A project manager of your company should help me with
my project work. This project manager should also have
contact to my college and when my work will be finished
he should judge my work.
There is also a second student from my college who is
interested in doing his practice semester in your
institute. His name is Werner Kriechbaum and if it
is possible we would like to work together on one
project.
Accommodation: Since I don´t have any contact person
I would ask you to look for some appropriate
accommodation or to send me addresses from private
persons where I could stay the whole time.
Payment for the practice semester :Since I am a student
it is necessary for me to earn enough money to be able
to live in New Zealand. My college recommends a similar
handling as practiced by you in similar training
projects according to your collective contractual
guidelines.
Legal position of the student concerning social
security and occupation:There should be a training
contract between the student and the company.
Concerning Social security the contractual organization
of occupation should be included in the final judgement.

Contents: The study “College for automatized plants and process control system in Wels” is a technically orientated education in the field of applied mechanical and electrical/electronic engineering including data processing with a strong emphasis on business management.
The range of professions includes all machinery, plants, manufacturing- and production systems, which can be automated by appropriate testing-, steering-, control- and handling techniques. The courses especially deal with the planning, the engineering and manufacturing of automated machines and plants, automated processes, the solution of complex problems in general - considering social, economical and ecological aspects as well as project management, plant management, communication, presentation, staff management and the realisation of new trends and methods.
Moreover business management contexts and language competence are being obtained.
The courses particulary deal with:

applied mathematics, mechanical and electrical engineering, production technology,
CAD- construction, LabVIEW and C++ programming
¨Technical main disciplines:
process automation, robotics, sensor technology
driving systems, microelectronic,
control-engineering, environmental technology
