With the company's continued growth in the areas of Data Warehousing, Decision Support and Enterprise Information Systems, an opportunity exists for a relational database expert to work as part of a solutions team who is capable of designing and optimising RDBMS structures and associated processes. You will provide advice and assistance to development technical teams to design and implement the RDBMS solution as well as administer, capacity plan and performance tune the development databases. You will document the procedures involved for database update an optimisation and, at project completion, train and hand over the administration and operation of the database to the client.
The successful candidate will be someone who has demonstrable skills in RDBMS technology such as Oracle, Informix, Sybase or SQL Server, perhaps gained in a Database Administration capacity. A good knowledge or Unix and Windows NT, experience of windows development tools such as Visual Basic or Java, together with experience of logical and physical database design in a single location or distributed environment will also be useful. Individual are likely to posses at least 4 years of experience in a similar field. Exposure to financial environments is desirable.
