Salary: $90K – 110K USD Annually
This lead engineer is completely responsible for 24x7 operation of www.autoweb.com and other internet systems, such as SalesEnhancer, located at our Exodus data center. Supervises internet Systems Engineers and DBAs. Work closely with development and product management to accomodate a wide variety of business requirements.
Responsibilities:
Design scalable, fault-tolerant architecture for internet systems.
Supervise and participate in on-call rotation.
Manage relationship with co-location provider (Exodus).
Manage vender relationships for critical hardware and software.
Monitor mission-critical internet site for performance and availability.
Research, evaluate, select, or approve software and hardware for use on website.
Work and communicate with technical and non-technical and co-workers.
Investigate new opportunities to optimize performance and site capacity.
Domain registrations and VERISIGN digital certificates.
Minimize disruptions, ensure smooth transitions for up-grades and changes.
Experience with the following required:
Managing a hgh-traffic commercial internet site (over 500,000 page views\day)
Clustering and load balancing, Windows NT 4.0,IIS, SMTP, DNS
Desired experience: net-Gravity ad Server, ColdFusion applicationserver (not necessarily programming); Dell PowerEdge servers, Cisco 2600 series routers, Check Point Firewall-1, Radware WSD Pro FE load balancer, logfile\traffic analysis, SQL server, scripting systems administration tasks in batch or Perl,
Linux and/or Solaris a plus but not currently required.
