dont understand some people

I have read some messages about olympic game in BeiJing, i dont understand why there are some chineses who are against it, all they said was "it will only help BeiJing and we must pay more and get nothing." or something like that. First, I think it will bring honor for whole china if the game is held in BeiJing, second, BeiJing is not any city in china, it is our capital city, and it symbolised whole country. (and certainly it will not only stand for itself.)
and i believe the olympic game will help to improve the economie of whole china, not only BeiJing.
i think those chineses who are against the olympic game in china think only for themselves and not for the country.
