That was the cause of millitary built up in mainland, the chinese governement has made clear that they can wait for taiwan(without weapons) to come back to china or remain the non- reunification and non- independece statue.
But with the help of USA taiwan more and more want to become independent, so china must prepare for war.
(I pray that this war never happens! I have met friendly taiwanese people in europe and I dont want anything happens to them. )
So the USA is a threat for the peace between China(mainland) and Taiwan.
