Even if people hate to use force, sometime it must be used. Until now, taiwan hasnt shown any movement (maybe yes, but on the other direction)for reunification, it shows that a peaceful reunification becomes more and more a dream, and if waiting for a peaceful reunification doesnt work, mainland must use force.(I repeat that it is absolutely impossible for the centrel governement and the majority of chinese people to accept the independence of taiwan)
Even if an attack seems to be very hard and maybe even impossible to
bring down taiwan to get it back to china, it is still better than do nothing and wait for the catastrophy. (although war will bring many other catastrophies, but sometime a higher price must be paid, and I am sure that the centrel governement and the majority of chinese people are ready to pay it when it comes.)
Taiwan says it want to prepare to defend itself in the war, but in my opinion it want to force a war to happen.
