It is still unwise of the national governement during worldwar II to follow the policy "first security in inside then security in outside" They lost the trust of the people, attacking CHINESE while japanese invade from outside. Even if they think it is the right way and they beat the communists, they will still fall down.I dont think the people who were attaked and KILLED by the japanese would understand that policy, and it takes years before they react to the invasion(actively).
According to the news of west europe countries, there are (at least)over 70% of russian people who are unhappy about the change to democracy and the fall the former communistic superpower. I dont know why dont they change back , but the fact is that many things are lost and they cannot bring them back, and I dont think it would be so easy for them either, even it should be their "own" decision, what if the USA and some EU stop the economical coorperation with russian? Russian still hasnt recovered from the last arm race which was a trap of usa to ruin russians economie (with success).I must agree that people in taiwan have built up a great economie; but for a "small" island it is not so hard compare with the mainland. and because of the closing up of the china MAINLAND until 1970 in economie, taiwan also get the chance to get influence over the asia market. (like XiangGang/HongKong, south korea and japan.) USA had stoped their economical help to Taiwan after some time, but That is even better for the economie in Taiwan, because the people dont need to look at the prise of things from USA which was expensive. then taiwan can get closer to japan in economie.
For the different systems in the economie it is maybe true that ideologically a free market system cannot work well with communism policy, but theologically it isnt proved yet. Beside the communist governement of china MAINLAND is in a change today, and like many others i have trust in the economie in china (MAINLAND and TAIWAN).
Now I have some questions; First what do you means by "China MAINLAND and taiwan should be on the some stand". Do you mean that one country , two government or the taiwan government stand over the central government of mainland?(or two countries, two government, two sytsems? hehe)
Secondly could you tell me more about ROC? (maybe I have heard about it before, but I am not sure.)
